How To Update Samsung T699 Galaxy S Relay 4G Firmware Using Odin And Stock Firmware Package

What To Do Before Starting?

All you have to do is to make a backup of any wanted data, Like SMS, Contacts and so on, Because you will loose them all after updating your phone, And there is no way to get them back, So it is better to start with this step first.


What Tools and Files I Should Get?

- Stock Firmware Package of Samsung T699 Galaxy S Relay 4G.
- Samsung T699 USB Drivers.
- Odin Flasher (T699).
- The Original USB Cable of your phone.

Important Notices:

- Make sure your phone's battery is fully charged, Or at least is has 90% of charging level.
- Use only a stable PC, And never use USB HUB for connecting the phone.
- Never disconnect the phone or the USB cable during the update process, Unless we mention that in the guide steps.
- Never try to flash a firmware package of another model into your Samsung T699, As that may kill your device.

Firmware Update Steps:

- Extract the downloaded T699 firmware package to your hard drive.

- Install the Samsung T699 USB Drivers, And reboot your PC after that.

- Extract Odin flasher to be used later too.

- Connect your Samsung T699 phone to your PC via USB cable (the phone must be on).

- When your PC detects the new device, Install the needed drivers for it, Then reboot the PC.

- Disconnect the USB cable from your phone.

- Turn OFF your Samsung T699 and take its battery out.

- Run Odin program and make sure to check these options only:

Auto Reboot, F.Reset Time

- In this guide we use this firmware package T699UVAMA2 as example, But you can use the one you want.

- Inside the extracted firmware folder you will get this file:

T699UVAMA2_T699TMBAMA2_T699UVAMA2_HOME.tar.md5

- Click on PDA button and select the above file.

- Now put the phone's battery back, But do not turn it on.

- You can update your phone's firmware when it is into download mode, To do so:

Hold Volume Down key + Home key then press Power button until you get the warning message on your phone's screen, Then press Volume Up key to enter the download mode.

- Connect your phone to PC via USB cable, And install any drivers if needed.

- Look at Odin's window to check if your phone is detected by Odin program.

- If all is OK, Then you will notice that Odin detects the COM port number of your phone like this 0:[COMxx] when xx are numbers.

- Click START button to let Odin do his job by installing the firmware package into your Samsung phone.

- After Odin installs the new firmware on your phone it will be auto rebooted, So wait for it.

- When the phone is fully on disconnect the USB cable.

- Look at Odin's window again to check if the process was done correctly, You will see PASS! Word.

- Do full reset using this code: *2767*3855#

- after entering the above code your phone will restarted again, Just wait for it.

- Now you are free to customize your Samsung T699 and use it with the new firmware version.
